The Prime Piano Practical Piano Tuning Course is a hands-on training program designed to teach beginners and aspiring technicians the essential skills of tuning and maintaining acoustic pianos. Through step-by-step instruction, practical demonstrations, and guided practice sessions, students learn how to use tuning tools, understand piano mechanics, diagnose common issues, and perform accurate, professional-quality tunings. The course focuses on building real-world confidence so participants can tune their own pianos or begin pursuing piano maintenance as a skill or career. A certificate of completion will be given after completing the course.

Basic Piano Tuning (Beginners Course)

Learn how to tune pianos with the assistance of a digital tuning meter device. This course also includes “Basic Piano Repair,” which can help you deal with the basic issues when tuning a piano.

    1. Lesson Booking and Payment

    1. Lessons must be booked in advance through our booking system or by contacting us directly.

    2. Payment is due at the time of booking to secure your lesson slot.

    3. We accept payment via Cash, PromptPay, or Bank Transfer.

    4. Lesson fees are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the instructor. Cancellation fees will be applied.

    2. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

    1. Cancellations made after the payment transactions are completed and confirmed will incur a fee of 30% of the total lesson fee.

    2. If you need to reschedule a lesson, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance.

    3. Lesson rescheduling made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time may result in forfeiture of the lesson fee.

    4. In case of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, exceptions to this policy may be made at the discretion of the instructor.

    3. Lesson Duration and Timing

    1. The entire course is completed in 5 days for the Practical Piano Tuning Lesson and 3 days for the Basic Repair and Action Regulation.

    2. Each lesson for Practical Piano Tuning typically lasts 3 hours unless otherwise agreed upon and 2 hours for the Basic Repair and Action Regulation.

    3. Please arrive promptly for your scheduled lesson. Late arrivals may result in a shortened lesson time, but the full lesson fee will still apply.

    4. Student Responsibilities

    1. Students are responsible for bringing their own tuning tools and equipment unless otherwise provided by the instructor.

    2. Practice between lessons is essential for progress. Students are encouraged to dedicate time to practicing the techniques and skills covered in each lesson.

    5. Safety and Liability

    1. While every effort is made to ensure a safe learning environment, students are responsible for their own safety during lessons.

    2. The instructor and the teaching facility will not be held liable for any injuries or damages sustained during lessons or while practicing at home.

    6. Code of Conduct

    1. Respectful and professional behavior is expected from all students during lessons.

    2. Any behavior deemed inappropriate or disruptive by the instructor may result in the termination of lessons without a refund.

    7. Intellectual Property

    1. All instructional materials provided during lessons are for personal use only and may not be distributed or reproduced without permission.

    Piano Tuning (Intermediate Course)

    Lessons on advanced piano tuning techniques and strategies. We are minimizing the assistance of a digital tuning meter device.

    Requirements for acceptance to take the course;

    1. The candidate must first complete the “Beginners Course” by Prime Piano before being considered as a candidate for the “Intermediate Course”.
    2. Candidates for the “Intermediate Course” will certainly be required to take a “Hands-on Entrance Examination” with a fee of ฿3,000.
    3. During the “Hands-on Examination”, candidates must first demonstrate that they can tune a piano within 3 hrs. In addition, the quality of piano tuning must pass the standard set by the instructor.

    Only the instructor can decide regarding your acceptance to the “Intermediate Course”. Therefore, we strongly advise the candidates to be well-prepared before taking the “Hands-on Entrance Examination”.

    Aural Piano Tuning (Advanced Course)

    Lessons on how to tune pianos without the assistance of a digital tuning meter device. This method of tuning a piano is also known as the “Aural” method.

    It would certainly be an advantage for a candidate of Pro Piano Tuner’s piano tuning course to be already oriented with the piano keyboard and the names and locations of the keys.

    If you don’t know the names of the keys on a piano keyboard, you can therefore refer to the illustration above to orient yourself with the key names and locations of the white keys in relation to the black keys. It is also recommended that you memorize it.
